The Director of Talent Recruitment (DTR) will act as Brooke’s sole talent strategist and recruiter for Brooke Charter School’s five schools and network-level positions. The DTR is responsible for working with and supporting hiring managers, representing Brooke externally, and identifying a diverse talent pool of prospective teachers and staff. The DTR will serve as a critical member of the network team and will work closely with both Co-Directors and all hiring managers.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Full Life Cycle Recruiting

  • Lead and develop individualized hiring strategies for all Brooke schools
  • Screen and conduct phone interviews for all qualified candidates
  • Support hiring managers throughout the selection process, and assist in the refinement of interview guidelines, evaluation tools, and talent assessment procedures as necessary
  • Coordinate all on-site interviews and necessary logistics
  • Manage and support candidates through all stages of the interview process, from application to offer

Candidate Outreach and Cultivation

  • Conduct extensive research to actively source and cultivate diverse, high-quality instructional and non-instructional talent for anticipated openings and high-need positons
  • Strategically and thoughtfully leverage staff networks for candidate and connector referrals
  • Attend targeted national and local career fairs and other recruiting events
  • Develop and implement a job-board strategy and oversee all recruitment advertising initiatives

Partnership Management and Development

  • Steward and strengthen Brooke’s existing talent partnerships with Teach for America, City Year, Jumpstart, and Generation Teach
  • Develop relationships and strategic approach with new organizational partnerships to support talent goals

Data Management and Continuous Improvement

  • Set annual recruitment goals with network leadership, as well as related outreach and cultivation goals
  • Work with Brooke's Director of Data to apply data-related expertise to recruitment tracking, reporting, and analysis
  • Own and improve all recruitment and hiring processes and tools with an emphasis on efficient and effective strategy, use of data, Brooke’s organizational values, and a superior candidate experience
