Director of Sales

Flocabulary is a rapidly growing edtech company that uses music and technology to drive student engagement and learning. We are looking for a Director of Sales to lead our growing sales organization.

Position Overview

The Director of Sales will lead the overarching new business growth strategy for Flocabulary. In this role you will manage our growing and talented new business sales org, and report to the President. You will focus relentlessly on improvement, using data to diagnose inefficiencies in the sales process. You’ll refine our sales forecasting, using advanced metrics to maximize the predictability of sales. Calling on your knowledge of the K12 market, you’ll help us zero in our value proposition, elevate the sale to the highest level decision makers in strategic districts, and train the team to communicate and execute with consistency. In partnership with stakeholders in Product, Customer Success, and Marketing, you’ll explore ways to increase our average sales price by expanding our footprint in key districts. You’ll maintain an open-minded, safe, fun work environment, always thinking about ways to support the professional growth of your team members.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire Sales org, directly managing inside and outside reps.
  • In partnership with President and Director of Revenue Ops, set sales targets and create a sales comp plan that maximizes successful attainment.
  • Work closely with counterparts and key stakeholders in Customer Success, Marketing, Product and Engineering to align priorities and drive improvements to internal tools and processes.
  • Drive individual, territory, and overall team performance against revenue targets.
  • Partner with Revenue Ops to develop key performance metrics and manage performance against them consistently.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with senior management.
  • Travel as needed for sales meetings, conferences, events, and school visits to support team members and inform strategy.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant sales leadership experience, preferably in ed tech or a SaaS company
  • 2-3 years of direct staff management and supervision experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively for diverse audiences
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with ability to use tools such as Excel to analyze and share data
  • Passion for education and the needs of diverse K12 learners at the center of all our work
  • Outstanding team player with proven leadership skills
  • Undergraduate degree required
