Director of Programs Position Overview:

  • Full-time, exempt, remote position with travel to schools, conferences and workshops
  • Reports to the Executive Director
  • Salary commensurate with experience

Opportunity Overview:

Learning Courage is looking to expand their team to include a Director of Programs to partner with the Executive Director and CEO to expand the reach and capacity of their organization. The role includes strategic thinking and planning, participating in school visits, engaging in conversations with various school stakeholders, assessing policies and procedures, supporting the completion of assessments and ongoing follow-up, developing and presenting workshops, and participating in management team meetings. The Learning Courage team develops individualized action plans, tailored to a school’s specific needs, and then creates space for processing and talking about the steps to follow the initial assessment.

As Learning Courage looks to grow in outreach and impact, the Director of Programs would be charged with expanding the program offerings and developing templates for curricula connected to social-emotional learning. The ideal is to equip member schools with the agency, knowledge, and support to do the work, proactively and reactively, of addressing incidents of sexual misconduct and abuse.

What you would do:

  • Participate in on-site school assessment process, including pre and post-visit planning and discussions
  • Draft reports and action plans
  • Design and deliver training and workshops to employees, students and parents
  • Meet with school leadership teams
  • Develop health education curricula
  • Participate in recruiting and onboarding of member schools and other youth-serving organizations
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the organization
  • Collaborate with the team to adopt and implement organizational policies and procedures that advance Learning Courage’s mission and values
  • Guide schools in response to reports of sexual misconduct
  • Collaborate with LC team and partner with schools in response to historic allegations and/or findings of sexual misconduct and create space for community healing and growth

Requirements:

  • Minimum Master’s degree or equivalent
  • At least ten years of independent school work experience and a commitment to mental health and wellbeing
  • Knowledge of trauma and trauma-informed care
  • Positive attitude and a healthy sense of humor are a must!
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice
  • Interest in facilitating workshops and developing health education curricula
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Excellent organizational, collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Counseling, wellness, or health education background preferred
  • Experience in supervision, evaluation, providing feedback, and having hard conversations (school administrative experience) preferred
  • Demonstrated performance in program development, assessment, and evaluation work preferred
