About the Director of Product Management Position

We are expanding our team with the addition of a talented Director of Product Management. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the group product manager will be a dynamic leader, owning the product and business strategy for a significant portion of our direct to consumer business. The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial product leader with a proven track record driving and accelerating revenue growth. This role includes significant revenue responsibility and your performance will be measured by your impact on growth.

Like many of our leaders, we are looking for a player-coach – somebody who loves the blend of hands-on running their own cross-functional scrum team, as well as the ability to impact others through coaching and development. This role is both strategic and operational with several key initiatives happening simultaneously and moving at a fast pace. We need someone who has the capability and willingness to roll up their sleeves, as well as provide vision.

At the Product Management team’s core mission is to delight customers and grow market share by creating evidence-based product strategies that identify new products, features and services. We obsessively seek to understand customers’ perspective, are business savvy, have a bias toward data-driven action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. Product managers also serve as the product owners for our Agile software development teams, helping lead cross-functional product development teams on a day-to-day basis with a focus on impactful results.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Create overall product vision and strategy for business segment to hit revenue targets.
  • Evangelize strategy within company and win support of executive team.
  • Combine deep user insights and data analysis to develop ROI-focused backlogs and rapid product iteration that drive growth.
  • Set the standard for product management excellence by managing own team.
  • Manage strategy execution across multiple teams, including coaching others to prioritize product stories and backlogs effectively across multiple teams.
  • Drive conversion of prospective consumers to active customers through funnel optimization including A/B testing of creative, segmentation/targeting, & landing pages.
  • As product owner, drive on-time delivery of new features and products across cross-functional teams by championing an Agile culture with a focus on results.
  • Coordinate product, marketing, content and services as needed to achieve goals.
  • Establish expectations and create an environment which supports and enables high-performance by both teams and individuals.


  • Minimum 10+ years product management experience
  • Experience building, leading and inspiring teams and individuals
  • Direct-report people management experience
  • Ownership of revenue goals with track record of successful growth
  • Ability to create and evangelize strategic vision
  • Consumer SaaS product experience as well as experience in one of the following areas:
  • General ed tech, and more specifically e-learning
  • Digital content and media, with focus on video
  • Other direct-to-consumer business models
  • Experience driving growth across many audiences like students, test prep and teachers
  • Direct analytical experience required including expertise in data analysis, A/B and multivariate testing, LTV modeling, etc.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies required
