Director of Marketing - Multiple Locations - Full time

As our Director of Marketing, you will have a critical impact in improving life opportunities for all students, by inspiring and supporting talented individuals to consider and enter the Teaching profession. This role reports to the Head of Product and will collaborate closely with the Content Director. In addition, this role will regularly interface, inform, and report to TEACH’s executive leadership team.

On a day-to-day basis, you will lead a team of vendors, contractors, and channel owners to drive new prospective teachers to apply to a teaching program via awareness, acquisition and retention strategies.

You’ll use user research and data to analyze audience needs/behavior, propose strategy and execute innovative marketing ideas and solutions, manage and coordinate channel owners, determine goals, measure results, set budgets, and drive TEACH’s impact on recruiting new teachers into the teaching profession.   • Designing, planning and implementing marketing campaigns across channels, including paid social, organic social, SEO/SEM, web, email, SMS, display, and out-of-home advertising
  • Preparing and managing monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for Channels team
  • Measuring, reporting on the performance of, and optimizing all marketing campaigns towards organizational goals


  • Build our marketing roadmap to, first and foremost, drive growth (bring new traffic and subscribers) to our site, amplify our brand, increase awareness of our products and services, and develop our organization’s social persona
  • Plan and execute all digital marketing, including social media, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, SMS, and display advertising campaigns and product launches
  • Work closely with the Director of Content and Design Lead to align our brand presence across all user experiences
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Oversee TEACH’s Public Service Awareness media campaigns (i.e. donated TV and radio), including overseeing a pro bono ad agency producing new TV/radio commercials and overseeing media “buying” agencies (who will actually be securing donated airtime for TEACH)
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
  • Define and analyze conversion points and optimize user funnels
  • Manage agencies, contractors and other vendor partners
  • Collaborate with and motivate internal content, web and design teams to increase client satisfaction through cohesive strategies
  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
  • Analyze consumer behavior and determine customer personas
  • Collaborate with Content team to improve online content, considering SEO and Google Analytics
  • Forecast customer performance trends and act proactively to increase our market segment
  • Monitor competition and provide ideas to stand out
  • Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitors’ marketing movements
  • Prepare and control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects
  • Participate in the quarterly and annual planning of company objectives
  • Support branding, positioning and pricing strategies


  • Proven work experience in a Marketing management position with measurable results
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing digital marketing campaigns, especially paid Facebook and Google Adwords campaigns
  • Demonstrable experience designing, leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Working knowledge of ad serving tools (e.g., DART, Atlas)
  • Hands on experience with CRM software and Project Management software
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven, creative thinking
  • Experience as a conference speaker, personal blogger or Medium author a plus
