The Director of Instructional and Information Technology provides leadership, vision, and strategic planning to sustain the use of appropriate technology solutions throughout the school. As a member of the District Leadership Team, s/he will oversee the instructional technology program, will facilitate technology integration, and will support the management of the school's technology assets and infrastructure.

I. Leads Instructional Technology Planning & Initiatives

o Coordinates the development of an IT department strategic plan that encompasses a vision for technology integration, technology infrastructure, IT support, and applications portfolio/architecture, and is aligned with a shared vision for instructional effectiveness and student learning

o Creates and maintains a three-year IT department budget aligned with strategic plan; monitors the department budget and expenditures for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate and expenses are within budget limits and appropriate fiscal practices are followed

o Serves as the school's chief technology advocate, promoting the effective use of technology resources in support of instruction and student achievement, and in support of innovation and productivity of administrative and staff support functions

II. Oversees IT Infrastructure and Team

o Supervises the IT team in the daily support of the PHA network, hardware infrastructure, computer center operations, telephone & security systems, and applications portfolio

o Manages procurement of software licensing; collaborates with external technology support services

o Provides recommendations for the purchase and acquisition of new technology and equipment

o Manages inventory and surplus of technology equipment

o Ensures that staff and students have access to the appropriate technology tools for productivity, teaching, and learning; identify ways to provide or support access where needed

o Recommends, plans, and supervise policies and procedures to ensure that technology tools are being used safely and responsibly

o Supports administrators, teachers, and other staff in the use of hardware/applications and in basic troubleshooting

o Performs administrator role for learning applications; supports the management of the school’s technology assets; provides support for standardized testing

III. Supports Technology Integration Across Organization

o Addresses and supports the ways that content standards and digital curricula align with digital age learning and work; provides additional frameworks where needed, eg. digital citizenship

o Supports the implementation and management of student behavior plans

o Promotes the use of technology in planning, teaching, and assessment that centers on the needs and abilities of all students

o Provides staff with ongoing access to technology-related professional development as well as opportunities to practice skills and share successful practices

o Coordinates on-going professional development opportunities for faculty, staff, and families pertaining to technology tools and resources

o Continually assesses the ways that instructional staff are using digital resources to support and enhance teaching, learning, and leadership

o Supports campus teams (administrators, teachers, and other staff) in their ability to effect change by modeling innovative integration of technology for productivity, teaching, and learning

Additional Responsibilities

o Serves as a critical and productive member of the district leadership team

o Attends 5-6 annual Board of Trustee meetings

o Maintains a high degree of professionalism at all times (attendance, punctuality, dress, written and oral communication, etc.)o Perform other duties assigned by the Head of School
