Yay Lunch - Remote - Full time

We are Yay Lunch, a new business concept with the mission to provide healthy food for kids away from home, beginning with school lunches. Our mission is simple: deliver delicious, healthy lunches made by local vendors to kids at school in an easy, reliable, cost-effective way for parents. How do we do it? We curate menus with local vendors in each market, families order online, and we deliver fresh lunches daily to kids at school. Easy!

Since launching a pilot in the 2017 / 18 school year, we have expanded rapidly. We currently operate in the DC Metro area; Baltimore, Maryland; Richmond, Norfolk and Charlottesville, Virginia. We have aggressive growth plans backed by experienced venture capital partners, and we are excited about our prospects!

We’re a startup which means we are agile, outgoing, quick on our feet, and eternally positive. We are a remote and distributed company, so we are open to new team members working remotely. In this role, we would expect there to be up to 50% travel to establish relationships in our current and prospective markets. 

About the Role:

As the Director of Growth, you will be responsible for establishing a strategy and executing a plan to increase the number and depth of institutional relationships in our markets. In addition, you will create the processes and tools for our Market Managers to leverage their own networks (as well as established institutional relationships) to generate leads and achieve our growth targets in each market.

You will:

Develop a national growth strategy leveraging insights from previous experience working within the education space.

Develop and execute a market-entry strategy for multiple markets concurrently.

Establish a channel strategy to differentiate our messages and tactics based on the specific situation of our prospective partners.

Work collaboratively with other departments within Yay Lunch to ensure successful market launches.

Provide insight and recommendations on the strategic direction of Yay Lunch as a member of the leadership team.

Achieve quarterly and annual growth targets.

You must have:

Business development / strategic planning in the education space that resulted in market growth

Excellent record of hiring, training, and developing sales teams

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desire and energy to craft and execute a national strategy

Experience working in a start-up environment a plus

Proficiency working with and leading teams in diverse geographies

You must be:

A leader, comfortable providing direction and support to a distributed team

A strategic planner, someone who develops solutions and creates plans to see them through

A strong communicator, able to discuss your strategy at the Board level as well as with front line team members

Pragmatic, with data-driven decision making skills allowing for quick execution

A creative problem solver, who can be clear-headed under pressureExcited to travel to new markets to set us up for success
