The Director of Education assumes a key leadership role in continuing the implementation of the school’s mission by building on the tenants of an inspired Waldorf public school education; and by fostering the traditions, relationships and practices that determine the school’s climate and culture.

The Director of Education reports to the governing board and directly manages a team of academic administrators, staff, instructional coaches, faculty, and communication staff. The individual works in collaboration with the Director of Operations and Compliance as a key leader of the school and serves as an external representative on behalf of the school to the school community, local Jacksonville community, and Duval County School District.

The successful candidate will be a proven leader with a commitment to Seaside School Consortium’s mission and vision of providing a well-rounded, whole-child, Public Waldorf model of academic excellence, character, leadership and community awareness. This individual will be an exceptional manager, leader, and strong relationship builder with demonstrated success in a similar school or organization.

Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in educational leadership, three years’ experience as a principal at the K-12 level and teaching or administrative experience in a public Waldorf school.
