Director of Curriculum and Instructional Design

Education.com is seeking a Director of Curriculum and Instructional Design to drive curriculum development across our learning resources and products, with an analytical nature, great enthusiasm for education, and superb attention to detail.

You will bring your experience with edtech and perspectives as an educator and curriculum developer to our team. Your knowledge and expertise will be used to assure the quality of our existing products and content, and guide future product development.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead evolution of Education.com’s teaching, learning, and pedagogical philosophy
  • Lead design and evolution of Education.com online digital learning programs
  • Manage content team on efficacy research, curriculum development, and skill alignment
  • Be the in-house education subject matter expert, sharing your voice as it relates to the teaching industry, state, and other professional standards and emerging trends
  • Direct and manage our teacher advisory board
  • Review product content for educational appropriateness and the application of best-practice approaches against specific learning objectives
  • Work with and support product development teams to research, ideate, and validate new products and features for parents, teachers, and kids
  • Manage project priorities and task assignments to team members and freelancers accordingly
  • Ensure the alignment of products and curriculum to educational standards

Qualifications:

  • Master's in elementary education
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • 5+ years as a full-time teacher
  • Understanding of educational technology and rapidly evolving business environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Suite
  • Deep knowledge/experience as an instructional designer for the elementary grades
  • Familiarity with relevant curriculum frameworks including: Teaching for Understanding, Understanding by Design and Universal Design for Learning
