Director of Analytics

Rocky Mountain Prep - Denver, Colorado - Full time

About the Role

The Director of Analytics will join the Network Data Team working cross-functionally with our Culture and Operations leaders at the network and school levels. This role is critical to ensuring Rocky Mountain Prep teachers have the tools and data they need to support the whole-child view of students.

In this role, you will:

  • Build, manage and provide training for the data systems and processes that support our operations and school culture initiatives.
  • Project manage the rollout of a new data tool across a team of more than 100 staff members with the goal that all decision-makers have the full picture (more than just the test scores) of a student, classroom, and school at their fingertips.
  • Analyze and share data with recommendations to inform school-team processes and strategic decision making with an unrelenting bias towards increasing equitable outcomes.
  • Engage (sometimes data-shy) stakeholders to create and manage clear reports and dashboards that analyze performance across schools with an eye towards building for scale.
  • Assess the need for and create templates and trainings that help teams improve data use internally and increase the full impact of data systems.
  • Lead/support cross-functional projects/initiatives that span every user type in our network - whether it’s a quick glance dashboard for our CEO or an onboarding video for 1500 families.
  • Influence stakeholders to choose and repeatedly use solutions that maximize student outcomes and minimize teacher time spent away from the classroom.

  • Required
  • Five years work experience post Bachelors Degree or three years post Masters Degree. If your traditional educational background does not include advanced statistics, please share details of relevant training, online courses or work experience where you honed your technical skills in your cover letter.
  • Basic proficiency in databases: SQL query or highly advanced spreadsheet calculations (Visual Basic or similar if working exclusively with excel). Scripting/coding: Python, R or other common languages for data wrangling.
  • Are a strategic, creative problem-solver with a track record of success in academic and professional settings.
  • Can effectively communicate with and engage a diverse group of colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Have a strong background in data analysis and project management.
  • Have experience leading cross-functional projects/initiatives involving data analytics.
  • Preferred
  • Have demonstrated tenacity and persistence in pursuit of simple solutions to complex problems.
  • Maintain a high level of professional maturity, are a solution seeker, and act as a positive force to motivate others.
  • Carefully manage tasks and time, are well-organized and detail-oriented (you think strategically, but you sweat the small stuff too).
  • Are deeply connected and committed to Rocky Mountain Prep’s mission that every child realizes their full potential through a rigorous and loving elementary education.
  • Preferably, you have worked in/with K-12 education in a prior capacity for 2+ years.
  • Extra credit if you have spent at least one year working as a classroom teacher.
  • Data visualization: tools such as Tableau (preferred), Google Data Studio, PowerBI.
  • K-5 Edtech platforms: any of the following or similar PowerSchool, Illuminate, ST Math, or Clever.

The salary for this position starts at $59,500 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package. Exact salary will be determined based on professional experience.
