Director of Account Management

IXL Learning - Raleigh, North Carolina - Full time

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 8 million students worldwide, is seeking a customer-focused, hands-on and motivated individual to lead our Account Management team.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for K-12 education, account management and client satisfaction. You will help lead our account management strategy by deeply understanding the day-to-day engagement with our customers. You will empower and support a team of Account Managers and Subscription Renewal Specialists, leading initiatives aimed at propelling growth in our product user base made up of K-12 students, maximizing retention of those students, strengthening adoption within schools and districts, and overall customer lifetime value.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Lead, manage and motivate a team of high-performing Account Managers and Subscription Renewal Specialists
  • Mentor and coach this team to achieve high levels of performance and professional development
  • Own the ultimate success of our customers, including implementation, product adoption, retention and growth
  • Develop strategies, tactics and an operational plan for the team to achieve targeted goals
  • Serve as a customer advocate internally while effectively collaborating with internal, cross-functional teams including product management, sales, marketing and engineering
  • Strive to build and refine an end-to-end view of the customer journey

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • BA/BS degree
  • 3+ years of experience in a people management role focused on building a customer-centric account management teams with proven success in elevating teams’ implementation and customer engagement skills
  • 8+ years of experience in customer-facing roles such as Account Manager, Customer Success Manager, Inside Sales or Renewal Sales
  • Excellent ability to drive resolution of customer escalations, resolve troubled account and save at-risk renewals
  • Aptitude for understanding a technical product and technical needs of customers; comfortable with technology and passionate about bringing technology into the classroom
  • Effective communicator in stressful situations
  • Passionate about supporting and transforming customers’ experience, a customer-first mentality
  • Educational technology, classroom, educational sales, or related educational experience is a plus
