The Director, Educational Technology is a thought leader who can successfully identify the appropriate e-learning strategies to enhance the educational experience for K-12 students. The Director, Educational Technology is a member of the program team, which is responsible for implementation of CEE projects such as the development or revision of supplemental curricular materials and resources; teacher training activities; the creation of online resources for educators; coordination of student, teacher, and other professional events; initiatives to implement personal finance content into the school curriculum; and others.

Responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • ­Driving, in cooperation with the Chief Program Officer and other senior staff, the strategic direction of organizational educational technology resources, from assessing existing resources, to recommending new opportunities, identifying appropriate development partners, and executing the determined strategy
  • ­Overseeing the development of technology-related teacher support tools, including online lessons, mobile learning, interactives, dynamic lessons and activities, and other educational resources
  • ­Overseeing the development of technology-related teacher professional development tools, including both synchronous and asynchronous training assets
  • ­Ensuring the continued quality of existing educational technology resources and identifying e-learning strategies for resources that do not currently include them
  • ­Coordinating with external vendors that are developing technology resources on CEE’s behalf, establishing the necessary set of requirements for projects, and acting as an “interpreter” of and advocate for the desired user experience

The Director, Educational Technology reports to the Chief Program Officer, and works in cooperation with other program management staff.This position also manages one staff person.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

§5-7 years’ experience in designing technology tools

­Solid understanding of current trends in using technology in the K-12 classroom

­Background in program management, and in facilitating the convergence of end user experience and the underlying technology facilitating this experience

­BA/BS degree, MA/S a plus

­Ability both to carry out activities independently and to both lead and work as part of a team

­Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

­Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

­Solid organizational skills and attention to detail

­Teaching experience a plus
