Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Director of Education Partners to oversee client engagements in Mursion’s Higher Education and K-12 markets. The ideal candidate will have a background in developing partnerships with universities, teacher and/or school leader development, project management and client relations. This person should also be a systems-thinker, a self-starter, highly organized and a strong collaborator.

This position is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Executive Director, Operations. It is remote, with the option to work out of our headquarters in San Francisco.


  • Oversee a growing education business expected to reach $10M in revenue in 3 years, including budget, staffing, and growth
  • Manage staff who own the the execution of the full lifecycle of education client engagements (both in-source and out-source software models) including on-boarding, client training, and project communications, ensuring that all projects meet gross margin goals
  • Responsible for ongoing client engagement, including directly managing high stakes clients through regular relationship management, strategic advisement, and replicating innovative use cases
  • In partnership with Sales, drive client renewal and expansion across all education clients
  • Articulate and report on learning outcomes for education clients
  • Collaborate with Simulation Specialist team to implement and provide guidance on best practices in simulation content across clients, with a content focus on K-12 education and teacher preparation programs
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing colleagues across Mursion to represent the company’s education work at public events and to continue to grow Mursion’s education ecosystem
  • Develop and improve systems for project oversight and knowledge management
  • Share best practices in education simulations for our clients
  • Serve as a content expert in the development of new education scenarios with our clients
  • Collaborate with Simulation Directors and Training Managers to develop training for the Simulation Specialist team that results in consistently authentic, inclusive, and respectful portrayals of children and adults
  • Collaborate with Executive Director, Operations, and Director of Product, to develop enhancements to the Mursion product that enhance usability and the client experience


  • 5+ years’ experience in project or program management
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and experience managing a $10M+ P&L, preferably within a Higher Education or K-12 market
  • Strong background in CRM, knowledge management, project management, and/or technical systems
  • Experience working directly with external stakeholders or clients, preferably University or K-12 clients
  • Solid communication skills and proven ability to motivate and influence others to take action
  • Able to balance between big-picture visioning and sweating the details
  • Self-starter, able to own and deliver on large chunks of work
  • Demonstrated team player
  • First hand knowledge of K-12 education systems and/or teacher training programs - including deep understanding of adult learning practices
  • Experience in a tech start-up, education, or in the arts and entertainment industry a plus
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree
