Recipient of a World Changing Ideas Award and recently featured on NBC Nightly News, NBC Nightly News Kids Edition, and CNN, Empatico is an “edtech for good” nonprofit that offers a free browser-based platform for primary and lower secondary classrooms. Empatico’s mission is to connect classrooms around the world to foster empathy among the future generation and prepare them for an increasingly connected world. Students experience meaningful connections by discovering how other kids live and recognize both their similarities and their differences.

Empatico’s platform offers a matching algorithm, video, chat messaging, and file-sharing technology, along with activities that engage students in SEL-based learning. The platform is compatible with in-person, remote, and hybrid learning and offers teachers access to facilitator guides and professional development resources that equip them to better promote empathy and understanding among their students.

Empatico is in its fourth year of operation. What You’ll Do

We are seeking an experienced education marketer to shape and promote Empatico’s story and values and solidify Empatico’s brand as an expert in connecting kids to foster empathy. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the position will be responsible for positioning the organization’s unique value proposition and growing the organization’s visibility and engagement within a crowded education technology space.

Empatico is a 100% U.S. remote non profit organization that is centered in Manhattan. Occasional travel will be required.

To find success in this role, you will:

  • Develop strategies to reach and convert primary school educators in the U.S and abroad
  • Lead implementation of strategies to acquire teachers across channels including organizational partnerships, digital, influencer and event-based marketing
  • Manage the educator journey at the top of the funnel, from first point of contact to sign-up conversion
  • Provide creative direction in the development of marketing and sales materials
  • Provide expertise on the educator persona and market positioning
  • Evaluate and test new channels to drive acquisition as part of a multi-channel strategy, optimizing and iterating as the program and team grow
  • Collaborate with peers across Product, Operations and Business Development work streams to define and deliver on ambitious acquisition and conversion goals

What You’ll Bring to Empatico

You have:

  • 7+ years of experience delivering successful results in marketing and sales in PreK–12 educational, education technology or youth entertainment markets
  • Comfort in executing and leading others to deliver road mapping, product marketing, content marketing, and e-commerce
  • Exemplary leadership that emphasizes strategic thought with an action oriented entrepreneurial spirit
  • The ability to be a respected manager who meets objectives by coaching with soft skills and humor
  • Strong writing and presentation skills and can craft powerful brand/product stories
  • The ability to take initiative, with strong attention to detail and manage a comprehensive workload and prioritize competing timelines
  • Deep knowledge of the U.S Education landscape with international education experience preferred
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills
  • A sense of humor
