Director, Creative

AVID Center - San Diego, California - Full time

Position Description: The Director of Creative is responsible for developing, directing, and executing on all creative services projects and initiatives in concert with various teams and departments within AVID. This position oversees the development of all visual creative media collateral to ensure that the message, image and brand strategy is conveyed in a consistent, timely, and favorable manner as defined by the Marketing department and other AVID teams. The Director of Creative directly engages with the members of the Creative Services team to align and target goals and works cross-functionally to execute on organizational objectives. This position leads the creation, development, and delivery of all aspects of creative and media to promote AVID’s reputation and products.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and communicate compelling digital experiences for use in performance marketing campaigns and content marketing programs
  • Define the creative service offering, go-to-market approach and serve as internal go-to resource for creative services throughout the partner base
  • Lead the creative process and work with clients and internal stakeholders to develop creative strategies, assets, and experiences for our partners
  • Deliver creative concepts via pitches, proposals, and presentations and sell ideas using a data-driven approach
  • Manage production of creative assets, including web design, copywriting, and content creation, via a mix of in-house and professional services resources
  • Leads and drives both creative and written strategic development, alignment, and execution of all corporate integrated communications, including, but not limited to: curriculum products and services, campaign communications, targeted marketing programs, event advertising, campus promotional materials, direct marketing campaigns, website organization, content development, and support for video and photography
  • Supports the Marketing team in organization-wide integrated marketing program, including branding and identity, as well as strategic message development, to support lead generation for all campaigns to ensure proper and consistent communication of brand image, continuous improvement of user experience, and maximizing lead acquisition and conversion
  • Executes department requests as they relate to messaging for web, print media, digital signage, video, and social media
  • Travel required (estimated less than 25%)
  • Perform other similar duties, as assigned

Experience and Education*:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or creative discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a creative setting
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role supervising artists or contractors providing website, print, video, advertising, and design services
  • Experience with marketing in industry, technology, or professional development

Preferred:

  • Post-graduate degree, education, and/or training in digital/print design
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier, Final Cut Pro
  • Experience with website design, development, and maintenance via a CMS
