About Swing

On average, U.S. students are with substitute teachers for 5% of the typical school year. That means our students have substitute teachers for more than six months of their K-12 school career. The problem? We're suffering from a national shortage of substitute teachers. Swing Education is focused on tackling the substitute teacher shortage. Our online platform makes it easy for great schools and quality subs to find each other. We help schools access more subs and offload tedious work associated with managing a pool of substitute teachers (recruiting, screening, payroll, etc.). Our network provides subs with a wider range of work opportunities to gain experience and build their professional network.

After almost 5 years in operation we are working with over 1500 schools and have filled over 150k teacher absence days. We're a post-series B company with about 50 employees currently and our lead investors include GV (aka Google Ventures), Owl Ventures, and Social Capital. We also have a strong commitment to diversity and our employees are 60% people of color (30% underrepresented minorities) and over 50% female. Position Summary

The Growth Marketing Manager will drive and own new substitute teacher acquisition efforts through paid media channels. As a core member of our Growth team, you’ll design overarching strategic projects across a variety of digital channels to support our marketplace by building a quality pipeline of substitute teacher leads.

An ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced and data-driven marketer who understands how to use and optimize existing direct response channels and is passionate about innovating, testing, and scaling new emerging channels to drive measurable results. You must be flexible enough to work in a fast-paced, highly iterative, and innovative environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Expand and lead the end-to-end strategy of our digital and offline marketing strategy to maximize qualified traffic and leads from SEO, paid social, search, and content syndication
  • Manage campaigns and external agencies to determine appropriate media plans, bid strategies, application flow, analytics, KPIs, and insight generation to help shape the marketing of our platform to new substitute teachers
  • Own and ensure the successful delivery of campaigns and projects including ideation, kickoffs with stakeholders, assigning task ownership, project completion, and launch communications
  • Support brand and product marketing to implement audience and messaging segmentation that ensures the right audience sees the right messaging and creative.
  • Own acquisition goals for digital channels and associated KPIs ie.CAC/ROAS/CPA)
  • Partner with and nurture deep relationships with marketing, product, business development, and operational teams, to support business priorities & goals, while advocating for them within the growth team

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 4+ years of marketing experience.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial style, eager to take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Depth of experience initiating and driving strategic, cross-functional programs to completion, executing tactical execution with minimal guidance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion in managing and engaging diverse pipelines of talent
  • Outstanding time management skills, with proven ability to multitask, accomplishing numerous tasks, and changing priorities in an effective and timely manner
  • Proven ability to think analytically to solve complex problems

Bonus points:

  • Experience managing performance marketing targeting employment and/or recruitment is a huge plus
