PowerMyLearning is looking for an experienced, innovative, and passionate math educator, with strong experience developing rigorous curriculum in grades 38 aligned to Common Core State Standards, with an emphasis on integrating digital resources. As part of the Content Team, the Digital Learning Consultant: Math will work to identify, tag, and effectively package the best publicly available digital content for teaching, learning, and formative assessment. Teachers, students, and parents access this content through PowerMyLearning's free K12 learning platform PowerMyLearning Connect. This position can be based in our New York City office or can be remote. It is a full-time, contract position, and is currently scheduled to end by September 2018.


  • Review and curate high-quality, free, online digital learning activities and formative assessment items in math to be included on PowerMyLearning Connect
  • Tag new and current activities and assessments on PowerMyLearning Connect to the Common Core State Standards in Math, and other metadata
  • Compose activity descriptions, instructions, and teacher notes to guide use
  • Collaborate with PowerMyLearning content and product teams and advisors to design rigorous playlists of digital learning activities and formative assessments for grades 38, ensuring superior alignment of products to Common Core standards and instructional design principles
  • Ensure that activities, assessments, and playlists are published in a timely and efficient fashion while meeting all requirements and guidelines


  • Passion for PowerMyLearning's mission
  • Strong working knowledge of digital learning landscape, especially open educational resources (OER)
  • Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards in Math, including best practices for determining and creating alignment of digital learning content to standards
  • At least 3 years teaching experience in Math grades 38, including experience incorporating digital resources
  • Strong project management skills including ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Exceptionally organized with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, especially writing and editing succinct externally-facing text for teachers, students, and families
  • High level of comfort working collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team
  • Proficiency working with spreadsheets, Google Drive, and content management systems
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area; Master's degree preferred
