POSITION DESCRIPTION

PowerMyLearning is looking for an experienced, innovative and passionate Language Arts educator, with strong experience developing rigorous curriculum aligned to Common Core State Standards that integrates digital resources. The Digital Learning Consultant – Language Arts will lead the research and design of rigorous language arts playlists for grades 3 – 8 on PowerMyLearning Connect, PowerMyLearning’s free K-12 learning platform. This position is currently scheduled to end by September 2017.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead effort to design rigorous Language Arts playlists of digital learning activities and formative assessments for grades 3 – 8, ensuring superior alignment of products to Common Core State Standards and instructional design principles
  • Identify sources of high-quality, free, online digital learning activities and formative assessment items in Language Arts to be included on PowerMyLearning Connect
  • Work with product and content teams to envision, design, and develop new functionality to maximize effectiveness and usability of rigorous playlists among students, teachers, and parents

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for PowerMyLearning’s mission
  • Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards in Language Arts & Literacy, including best practices for determining and creating alignment of digital learning content to standards
  • Strong knowledge of research in literacy development, including use of digital programs and tools
  • Strong working knowledge of digital learning landscape, especially open educational resources (OER)
  • At least 3 years teaching experience in Language Arts in grades 3 – 8, including experience incorporating digital resources
  • Strong project management skills including ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Exceptionally organized with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, especially writing and editing succinct externally-facing text for teachers, students, and families
  • High level of comfort working collaboratively as part of a cross-functionalteams
  • Proficiency working with spreadsheets, Google Drive, and content management systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area; Master’s degree preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
