Design Tech High School Data Specialist

Design Tech High School - Redwood City, California - Full time

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Software / Data Support

  • Support PowerSchool (our Student Information System)
    • Clean up data: Contact info, Grad tracking data, course catalog,
    • Reducing hand-done tasks (transcript auditing, scheduling, course sign-ups, etc)
      • Knowledge of PowerSchool Data Import/Export Manager a plus.
  • School Messenger Integration: Sending schedules, report cards, and transcripts to students, parents and advisors. Making sure school messenger can send to more than one parent.
  • PowerSchool & School Mint (our Enrollment software) integration (data import from School Mint to Powerschool)
  • Running reports (ex, # inc this semester, demographic data, etc).
  • PowerSchool & Canvas integration
  • Assist with setting up master calendar, year, terms, rollover to new year
  • Input data as needed (e.g., staff data)
  • Support attendance coordinator w. Technical tasks
  • System Security/Proper Staff Access & Permissions to fields and pages
  • Support with other data tasks: Google form supports, spreadsheet management (vlookups, scripts to link data, etc), mail merges
  • Canvas (our Learning Management System)
    • Create and update common course templates
    • PD for staff re best practices
    • Trouble-shooting teacher issues.
    • App integrations
    • CBL Grade Dashboard
      • Minor updates to the dashboard
      • Coordinating with developers who add features to the dashboard.
  • Dragon Time (Our dynamic scheduling software, run weekly)
    • Liaison w/ Formation Learning (external org who built and runs Dragon Time)
    • Help staff w/ troubleshooting & PD.
  • Data Collection & Presentation:
    • Collect, clean, and present student data to inform stakeholder decisions.
    • Grade data at the close of every cycle -- year over year comparison, broken out by demographics, students at risk. (pulled from the dashboard)
    • Graduation tracking data (incompletes, grad progress)
    • GPA data
    • Support Import of VAPA grades during Intersession to Powerschool
    • Attendance Reporting Data
    • Set up integrations between LMS, SIS, and other 3rd party tools.
    • Move data from one system to another, when integration is not available; either manually or using a custom integration.
    • Create ad-hoc and regular reports to help track graduation progress, college eligibility, and attendance.
    • Ed Tech Tools Support.
      • Integrate with Canvas (e.g., Nearpod, EdPuzzle, etc)
        • This is predominantly done using LTI Integrations.
    • Troubleshoot & PD w/ staff
  • KoiStream-
    • Know the tech
    • Keep equipment up to date and repaired
  • Work with our Oracle Adjunct Faculty
  • Additional Duties assigned
