Deputy Director of District and School Partnerships

New Classrooms - Multiple Locations or Remote - Full time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced relationship manager to maximize the effectiveness of Teach to One: Math (TTO) implementation at partner schools. The Deputy Director of District & School Partnerships will engage with district, school, and community leaders to align on a vision for personalized learning and the potential of Teach to One: Math to drive dramatic growth for students in communities across the New Classrooms’ network.

The Deputy Director of District & School Partnerships will partner with regional Instructional Coaches and Operations Managers to develop and execute strategic plans aimed at improving the health and performance of a diverse portfolio of partner schools. In addition, the Deputy Director of District & School Partnerships will work closely with the Growth & Expansion team to execute on our district expansion and renewal strategy. This role will report to the Vice President of District & School Partnerships.

What You Would Do

Goal-setting: Triangulate shared goals of funders, district leadership, and school administration to clarify program goals.

  • Navigate discrepancies among stakeholder holder groups specific to program success.
  • Monitor and update these goals throughout the school year, adjusting when necessary.

Walkthroughs: Partner with New Classrooms instructional coaches and operations managers to facilitate district walkthroughs of Teach to One: Math implementations within a given district.

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Teach to One: Math program and leverage that understanding to be proactive in addressing stakeholder concerns.
  • Work as a liaison between district stakeholders and the central health and management teams to implement and monitor action plans that address stakeholder concerns.

Governing Board Presentations: Highlight partnership opportunities, successes, and challenges to governing boards.

  • Clearly articulate the goals of the partnership and the broader goals of New Classrooms, how those goals are established and monitored, and the progress the district is making toward those goals.
  • Support district leaders by synthesizing vital information in a way that is clear, concise, and actionable.

Data Reviews: Help district leaders internalize important data points specific to Teach to One: Math by leveraging NWEA MAP data, Teach to One portal data, implementation health data, and survey data.

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the NWEA MAP assessment and the reports provided to the district by the New Classrooms Data team.
  • Leverage data to create and update action plans to improve implementations of Teach to One: Math.

Issue Escalation: Manage the escalation of program issues with schools & districts involving central team members to resolve challenges.

  • Work with a variety of stakeholders to identify actionable next steps when faced with a challenge.
  • Assist districts and schools in following through with action plans specific to escalated issues.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and passion for work in K-12 education
  • Strong leadership capacity with 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience, comfort and demonstrated success working in a variety of diverse district/school settings
  • Experience leading and/or implementing programs (preferably including a component of implementing technology) requiring a high degree of change management
  • Strong critical thinking and planning skills coupled with goal setting and strategic planning experience
  • Ability to operate with purpose, urgency, and accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Natural tendency toward innovative and creative problem solving
  • Comfort working in a highly collaborative start-up/entrepreneurial work environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships and motivate a diverse team to meet ambitious goals
  • Exceptional influencing and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel nationally up to 30%-50% of the time

Additional Information

In this role, the Deputy Director of District and School Partnerships will be working with a variety of schools and districts nationwide. Based on our current portfolio and expected growth, we prefer that you are located in Chicago, Miami or New Orleans, however, we may consider a candidate outside of these locations if there is an exceptional fit.
