The Data Systems Manager is responsible for the quality control and day-to-day operations for the school-wide information systems, with a focus on the School's primary information system: Veracross. They will be responsible for integrating these systems and suggesting to departments how to better work with these systems and act as front line support for all database related problems.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide institutional support for campus data systems, Veracross, Blackbaud, SFTP, and other attributable data systems
  • Manage database user accounts and profile data for students, faculty/staff, and parents
  • Coordinate and oversee and document yearly processes
  • Provide data reports from aggregated sources as requested
  • Act as technical support with campus-wide data software systems, both new and existing
  • Create and execute data import and export transfer protocols to ensure every integrated systems data remains current and up to date; including but not limited to transferring personally identifiable user data between systems, ensuring automatic data transfers occur without error or delay, and creating queries and reports to verify data integrity
  • Develop tutorials, identify online resources and design and deliver training workshops for end-users, including but not limited to faculty and staff
  • Support end-users of data systems on campus with all functions of the School Management System, including providing timely guidance, technical support, and resources to maximize productivity and functionality
  • Seek professional development opportunities
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors


  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with Blackbaud, Veracross, Google Apps for Education and Active Directory preferred
  • Experience managing a large-scale software roll-out project, from start to finish
  • Experience in an independent school environment a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus, user-centered attitude and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate technical information to all stakeholders of the school
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to create result-oriented action plan
  • High energy, self-starter with ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task in an atmosphere in which time sensitive deadlines are the norm, as are interruptions
