The opportunity

We are looking for a Data Integration Manager to join our TalkingPoints team. In this role, you’ll support smooth and efficient initial and ongoing data integration needs for TalkingPoints school and district partners, enabling initial use and long-term positive impact from school-family partnerships. You’ll play a consultative partner-facing and internal leadership role, in pursuit of continuously improving the data integration process. You’ll also help design and orchestrate data solutions, collaborating closely with TalkingPoints cross-departmental teams. This role will report to the Senior Director of Partner Success and will also:

  • Work in partnership with school and district tech leads of varying degrees of data integration experience, TalkingPoints Partner Success Managers and other TalkingPoints team members to support smooth and timely SIS data integration with the partner’s TalkingPoints platform to
    • Identity blockers to data integration both for individual partners as well as common root causes of blockers across partners
    • Solve for both individual partner account blockers
    • Maintain clear and concise communication about issues and issue resolution for partners and internal TalkingPoints teams
    • Create documentation that will prevent predictable data integration issues for future partners, based on specific conditions (SIS, state specific parameters, sync type, integration intermediaries such as Clever or Classlink, etc.)
    • Suggest product improvements that will increase the speed and quality of data integration for partners
    • Train and support more junior staff on data integrations, both generally speaking and specific to individual partners
  • Maintain technical integration strategies by researching and implementing technological strategic solutions.
  • Build and maintain quality relationships with integration vendors (e.g. Clever and ClassLink) and leverage relationships to create the best outcomes for school and district partners.
  • Work collaboratively with partner-facing teams to build and maintain processes that optimize speed and quality of data integration with the TalkingPoints platform.
  • Recommend data integration strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Contribute to implementation goals by offering expertise cross-functionally as needed.

Who you are

  • You have 3-5 years of experience with SIS data integration with SaaS products, and a plus if that’s been in educational technology.
  • You are prone to action.
  • You enjoy identifying and solving problems.
  • You are highly analytical.
  • You have the ability to “translate” highly technical concepts in an understandable way to non-technical audiences.
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills.
