Data and Research Coordinator

Turnaround for Children - Remote - Full time

The Data & Research Coordinator will support the Applied Science team as it works to grow an organization-wide culture of deliberate inquiry, data-driven decision making, research and tool development. The Coordinator will work with colleagues and our partners (educators!) to provide data-driven insights about Turnaround’s whole child design and development work; they will play a critical role in collecting, cleaning, analyzing, visualizing, and communicating data on the effectiveness of Turnaround’s programmatic and research work. They will also support with creation, dissemination, continuous improvement and validation of measurement tools. The Coordinator will support the maintenance and use of data systems and structures across multiple platforms for survey creation, data collection, and data visualization. The organization works in cross-functional ways and the coordinator will participate on various project teams. The Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager, Data and Research.

What you’ll do:

●Collaborate in all stages of research and analytics, including conducting literature reviews, developing our learning agendas and data management including collection, cleaning, processing and analysis, data visualization and reporting;

●Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis using Excel, SPSS,

●Create measurement and evaluation tools to learn about the programmatic and research work in alignment with the learning agenda (e.g., exit tickets, surveys, focus groups, etc.);

●Create and refine a suite of data visualization, including decks, reports and dashboards, to communicate data both internally and externally (to funders, partners, etc.);

●Help create learning experiences for staff using formative data for learning and improvement;

●Support the Data & Research Team in executing the research and design arm of the organization;

●Respond to and fulfill data requests from the development and communication teams;

●Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings and coordination of stakeholders such as research partners, platform support staff and data collectors.

You’ll bring these skills and experiences to the role:

●An understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistical analysis;

●Strong analytical skills with experience providing data analysis, preferably to both technical and non-technical audiences;

●Experience conducting descriptive and inferential data analysis using SPSS;

●Experience creating surveys, reports and dashboards using Qualtrics;

●BA/BS in psychology, economics, public policy, sociology, or related social science field

●One to two years of work experience in a non-profit, education, and/or social service setting preferred;

●Experience with program evaluation research and/or nonprofit internal evaluation;

Status: This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
