Data and Report Quality Specialist (Temporary)

DeansList - Remote - Full time

DeansList’s Summer Data and Report Quality Specialist will work closely with our small but mighty Data Team to deliver dozens of custom student reports that meet our schools’ needs during the busiest months of the year. As a project manager, report reviewer, and data specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that our schools are ready to successfully share important information with students and families at the start of the school year. In addition to learning reporting and data best practices and gaining valuable experience at a growing edtech company, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your technical skills by building reports for schools using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Our ideal candidate is a highly organized, motivated learner with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, empathy for K-12 educators, and an interest in data and education technology. We’re looking for applicants who have a long history of double- (or triple-!) checking their work, and who love diving into the details of a project, no matter how granular. By joining our Data Team this summer, you’ll help our schools start off the 2022-2023 school year with the reports they need to support their students.

This is a temporary role during our team’s busiest months, from July 2022 to late-September/mid-October 2022, with some flexibility in daily hours. Candidates should have availability to work between 4-8 hours a day on weekdays.

Responsibilities:

  • Create student report templates for new DeansList schools based on site configuration
  • Gather requirements for report revisions and additional custom report requests. Develop report templates and specifications to share with DeansList’s Data Team
  • Track status of report requests and email school leaders with updates
  • Check completed reports and share report samples and resources with school leaders
  • Support ad hoc data and reporting requests

Requirements

  • Availability to work 4-8 hours a day on weekdays between July 2022 and late-September/mid-October 2022
  • At least one (1) year of experience working in K-12 education, OR experience working in an operations/data-oriented role
  • Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to understanding the specifics of complex requests
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with content and project management software is a plus (our team uses monday.com and Notion)
  • High level of comfort with Google Docs and Google Sheets
  • Affinity for and interest in technology. Experience with HTML and CSS not required, but is a plus
  • Interest in K-12 education data and visualization.
  • A passion for improving education and empathy for educator

Benefits

  • Hourly rate of $28
  • Medical benefits available for employees working 30+ hours per week
  • Home office stipend
