Job Description

We’re seeking a Data Analyst to help the BrightBytes Data Operations team scale our impactful education solutions, providing critical insights to districts across the country. We’re looking for folks with strong analytical skills, who want to put data into action helping school districts make better-informed decisions. You’ll be working directly with our customers and data research partners to bring our student-data-powered solutions into districts, schools, and classrooms. For you, managing mountains of potentially messy data and wrapping it up in a beautiful, statistically significant bow sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Here’s what you’d do:

  • Facilitate data integration including end-to-end client pipeline management from client data to dashboard delivery
  • Investigate district source data and formulate questions to enhance data quality and completeness
  • Write queries to transform raw data into fantastically clean, normalized datasets
  • Explore new data sets
  • Run, evaluate and extend data quality reporting tools and procedures
  • Work with school district technical teams to improve data quality and address inconsistencies, gaps, and other issues
  • Create customer-facing materials to help with data verification steps
  • Generate ad-hoc reports for customers
  • Analyze internal data and prepare results to be used in marketing, white papers, and customer communications
  • Train and mentor other analysts on the team in an effort to build consistent, scalable processes
  • Represent the voice of the team as new products or features are being constructed cross-functionally.
  • Identify areas where current systems are inefficient and own the responsibility for managing the implementation of how to resolve the inefficiencies.
  • Develops plans to reduce the overall time of implementations and refreshes by automating checks and working with engineering to build necessary tooling.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience that includes quantitative analysis and data visualization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics/Statistics/Business).
  • Fluency in SQL is a must, experience with other statistical languages (R, Python, Stata, SAS) is a plus.
  • Experience with an IPaaS solution and AWS tools are a plus.
  • Experience building production dashboards using a BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Sisense) a strong plus.
  • Strong desire to work in the education sector.
  • Previous experience working in education technology is a plus.

This is a full-time position based in the Atlanta area.
