Who are we?

Hello! We’re Landed, and we are on a mission to help essential professionals, starting with educators, build financial security near the communities they serve. One of the ways we do this is by co-investing alongside educators when they are ready to buy a home. We call this shared equity down payment assistance. 

We were founded in 2015, and we are based in San Francisco. We have the backing of Y Combinator, prominent angel and venture capital investors, top banking executives, former directors of federal housing authorities, affordable housing policy experts, union organizers, philanthropists, and Stanford economists. We are also financially supported by great organizations like the DRK Foundation and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

What is Customer Account Management?

We are a growing company, so in some ways we will need you to help us define the role. We know that your work will set the stage for us to grow into working with more customers in more regions. With the ultimate goal of helping customers succeed in the homebuying process, you’ll manage a large portfolio of Landed customers working with them to successfully purchase a home.

You will report to Jess Zhao, the Head of Customer Experience, and work alongside Emily Eshman and Jay Plant. Jess is a highly collaborative manager who cares deeply about seeing both her team and Landed’s customers succeed. Our team is looking for someone who can bring expertise around account management while developing systems that simplify our work.

  • Relationship Management: You build and manage authentic, trusting working relationships. Most importantly, you’ll establish and grow meaningful connections with our homebuyers. You’ll also collaborate with internal team members and external partners, like lending and agent partners.
  • Project Management: You know how to prioritize and manage many competing priorities. You’ll balance acting with urgency with providing high-quality, positive experiences.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: You understand how to move through ambiguity and solve complex problems that don’t necessarily have a clear, simple answer. Even better -- you can help us to develop a process and a roadmap to guide future decisions.
  • Operational Improvements: You know how to operate in ambiguity and create systems that simplify our work together. You are comfortable with leaning into a challenge, trying new things, failing, learning, then trying again.
  • Communication: Working with a diverse group of stakeholders, you’re a natural connector. You thrive at explaining difficult concepts simply. You adjust your communication style to meet the unique needs of people, and translate messages among different stakeholders. You’ll build champions of Landed and you know how to message the mission, purpose, and value of Landed effectively.
  • Coaching: You are a motivator and an encourager. You are empathetic and are excited to support our customers through what can be a challenging process.
