Curriculum writer - CS and/or CTE - Summer 2018.

At RobotLAB we believe that students need a learning methodology that is relevant to them to learn effectively. Our learning methodology makes use of robots to help teachers engage students and teach them the concepts they need. The learning tool we develop is an online platform with lessons that cover a wide range of topics for elementary middle and high school. The uniqueness of our approach resides in that we're creating content to teach core subjects in STEM and CS in a way that is relevant to modern students using the technology they will use in their future careers and studies. Our platform has hundreds of lessons and users from across the country that are teaching our programs in their classroom.RobotLAB is constantly improving and enriching its content to propose a more comprehensive learning environment with Engage! K12.

More about the job:

The position is based in our offices in Walnut Creek, CA.

The focus is on Computer Science and CTE.

You will work as an integral part of our product group, with a team of teachers, programmers, and educational specialists.

Your role is:

To guide the creation of the lessons and make sure they follow an effective teaching methodology.

Make sure the concepts taught are relevant for the classroom.

Supervise the use of the robots in lessons and make sure it adds a significant value towards the student mastery of the subject taught while keeping classroom management issues low.

Implement best teaching practices (such as inquiry and project-based learning) in the lessons.

Requirements:

Knowledge in teaching Computer Science and/or CTE

Experience teaching in the classroom is a must. We want the content to be relevant for classroom use.

Experienced in writing lesson plans.

Enthusiastic about the use of technology to teach.

You do not need to know about robotics nor be a programmer for the position. However, you do need experience teaching programming; the content integrates computer science with various subjects.

Courses for elementary, Middle and High school will be developed over the summer. You need teaching experience in one or all the above grades to apply.
