POSITION SUMMARY:

The Curriculum Support Subject Matter Expert I provides expertise in a subject matter and is responsible for maintenance and support of digital curriculum for ASU Preparatory and partnerships. The Curriculum Support team will monitor and provide support for all digital curriculum, including reviewing and editing of lessons, assessments, and instructional activities along with the research, review and implementation of third-party products that meet ASU Preparatory student needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education and/or subject matter area, Master’s Degree, preferred.
  • Valid Teaching Certificate in subject area, any state acceptable.
  • Four (4) years of teaching experience with two years online experience.
  • One (1) year of digital curriculum development experience, preferred.
  • Experience with Storyline or other digital authoring tools, Microsoft Office Tools, Google Apps, and Learning Management Systems, preferred.
  • Experience in online asynchronous learning, preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides content knowledge in the subject area of specialty.
  • Maintains and supports content and assessments that prepare students for high stakes testing.
  • Reviews and resolves digital lesson content and assessment errors.
  • Implements online learning pedagogy and best practices when revising content.
  • Maintains deep understanding of state and national content standards in a variety of states.
  • Researches third-party products to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
  • Works closely with stakeholders to pilot potential products and gather feedback.
  • Evaluates content concerns and third-party products through a critical, student-focused lens.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Curriculum Support Services and support team members to establish efficient protocols and workflows.
  • Meets all team and project timelines, collaborates with others, values opinions, and promotes a team atmosphere.
  • Tracks tasks/projects to provide regular status reports.
  • Fosters a growth mindset by seeking and accepting to new ideas and constructive feedback.
  • Provides excellent customer support.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, trainings and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.
