The Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) team at Summit Public Schools creates educational materials for elementary, middle, and high school students (called the Base Curriculum), as well as professional development materials for teachers and school and district leaders.

The Curriculum Support Manager will support team members in preparing and performing quality assurance on the curriculum for immediate use. He or she will peruse through a high volume of documents and videos, note needs, flag problems, and upload links and text into the Summit Learning Platform.The Curriculum Support Manager will also help support teachers who are using the Base Curriculum by responding to help tickets via our customer support platform (Zendesk), make curriculum recommendations based on teacher feedback, and escalate any sensitive concerns to C&I leadership.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), has superb attention to detail when completing large-scale rote tasks, and is devoted to providing a high-quality, empathetic user experience to the teachers using the Summit curriculum. He or she is proficient in the Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides) and is able to learn new user interfaces such as the Summit Learning Platform and Zendesk quickly.

This work can be done remotely.

Summary of Responsibilities

The Curriculum Support Manager will be responsible for the following.

  • Become a Summit Learning Platform product expert particularly with features related to Curriculum and Professional Development
  • Respond to user reports and requests related to Curriculum and Professional Development quickly and with care
  • Troubleshoot problems with users
  • Educate users on how to use the Summit Learning Platform
  • Track trends in user requests over time and communicate these trends to the Curriculum & Instruction team leads
  • Ensure materials included in the Platform conform to specifications (e.g. accessibility, copyright)
  • Lead the process of uploading and checking all materials into the Platform
  • Advocate for a high-quality user experience
  • Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the user experience

  • Tutoring or teaching experience a plus
  • Experience in customer service a plus (especially experience using Zendesk)

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree; background in education a plus
  • Proficient in Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides
  • Meet health clearance, and pass the reference, background/criminal checks, per education code
