SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The role of the Curriculum Program Manager, Computer Science (CS) Education is to assist the Director of CS Education in developing curriculum and programs for the Museum's K-12 Computer Science Education Initiative. The Program Manager applies best practices in educational product development, oversees project timelines, leads curriculum writing, and works with the Director to build partnerships with educators and institutions that are vital to CS program content development, testing, and delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Products: In a 12-month educational product development cycle, oversee development, testing, revision, and release of:
    • 2 Engineering is Elementary unit extensions for grades K-5
    • 2 computer science curriculum units for grades 6-8
  • Provide direction and supervision of curriculum development team of 4-6
  • Travel 3-4 times per year, 1-4 days at a time

WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday.

REPORTS TO:

Director, Computer Science Education

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science or Arts degree.
  • 7 or more years of science education, engineering education, or computer science education experience.
  • Experience writing standards-based curriculum.
  • Experience bringing educational products to market.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the work of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas through graphics and words.
  • Experience teaching computer science or related field, formally or informally.
  • Ability to manage projects and people, and to handle competing priorities in a detail-oriented environment.

STARTING SALARY:

Exempt (Salaried). Commensurate with experience.
