Curriculum Product Manager

Reading Horizons - Kaysville, Utah - Full time


This is an in-office, full-time, salaried position at a growing literacy company. At Reading Horizons, we believe that reading is for everyone, and we aim to improve literacy skills through dynamic direct-instruction materials and software products.


  • Work with the Reading Horizons Curriculum Director within the Reading Horizons product development process to manage the development of the portion of Reading Horizons Discovery® and Reading Horizons Elevate® products that relate specifically to the experience of teachers and administrators. Basic duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Manage the teacher and administrator software user experience
    • Oversee the creation of reports that will help guide teacher instruction, show student progress, and communicate usage information to stakeholders
    • Organize, gather, and synthesize user feedback to inform and validate current and future product features
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the process of product development to create a gold-standard user experience
    • Create documentation to represent product features, requirements, acceptance criteria, and use cases
    • Generate ideas for new product development, as needed
    • Create and update product roadmap
    • Manage and inform timelines relating to the development of the product and communicate product status to various stakeholders
    • Present, demonstrate, and train various groups on product design, rationale, and usage
    • Apply knowledge of assessment and data to create accurate reports for students, teachers, parents, and administrators using Reading Horizons software


  • Passion for making a difference in the lives of people through literacy
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a field related to Education or Technology
  • Direct experience or familiarity with teachers and administrators, to the point of understanding how they will interact with a product and what features will and won’t appeal to them
  • Familiarity with product development and software development
  • Experience with Agile and tools specific to software development such as Jira and Confluence
  • Creative ability to introduce and develop new ideas
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation relating to product development and user scenarios
  • Ability to analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data
  • Exceptional analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
  • Basic knowledge of software functionality
  • Must be willing to relocate or commute daily to Kaysville, Utah area if not already local


  • Teaching experience using technology and/or blended learning in a classroom setting
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn the Reading Horizons methodology
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
