Curriculum Developer

The AI Education Project - Remote - Full time

AIEDU’s Curriculum Developer works at the beating heart of our organization, designing the content that powers our core learning products. You will work alongside our Chief Learning Officer and Head of Education Partnerships to implement our accessibility-minded pedagogy to create engaging activities that challenge and inspire students to imagine their place in a world powered by artificial intelligence. You will report directly to TBD, contributing directly to our mission by building AIEDU’s curriculum, and to our strategy by informing key decisions about the content and product roadmap. This is a remote position, however you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the full team, and also engage with our students, teachers, and other stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

- Develop lesson plans, activities, assessments, and other course content aimed at teaching K-12 and community college students about AI and its societal impacts from a variety of disciplines (including STEM and the Humanities);

- Vet and curate resources and content for supplemental use by teachers in the implementation of the curriculum;

- Conceptualization and foundational work that underpins the curriculum

Other Stuff- Create multimedia content to enhance and support deeper understanding of AI concepts including videos, animations, infographics, digital games, instructional graphics, audio content, etc.;

- Conduct teacher interviews, surveys, student focus groups, and other outreach activities to inform and develop course content, and suggest revisions to AIEDU’s learning products based on their input;

- Train and support high school teachers to implement lesson plans and course content at the classroom, school, and/or district levels;

- Occasionally lead synchronous and/or asynchronous instruction in virtual and physical classrooms of students at a variety of levels to pilot new curriculum and support AIEDU’s overall instruction needs

About You

You will have a bachelors and/or master’s degree in some combination of education, technology, engineering, or the Humanities (however at least one degree in education is probably a requirement, absent significant curriculum design experience). You will be passionate about advancing AIEDU’s mission to reach untapped students, and have direct experience or big ideas about how to use curriculum and culturally-relevant pedagogy and other learning sciences to engage and educate students who are being left behind.

You’ll thrive working in a remote environment (AIEDU was fully remote before it was “cool”), and be comfortable utilizing technology tools (e.g. Slack, Asana, Zoom, and Google Suite). You should work well as part of a collaborative team, but also be able to function as an independent contributor without much oversight.
