SIFMA Foundation - New York, New York - Full time

The SIFMA Foundation is seeking an inaugural Chief of Operations to drive the organization through its most ambitious growth phase. The SIFMA Foundation’s Chief of Operations will play a vital role leading an organization with a $5M operating budget and expectations for continued growth over the next several years. Additionally, the Chief of Operations will oversee the nonprofit organization’s strategic innovation and expansion of technology-based investor education programs to serve one million youth each year.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the President, Board, staff and funders to increase market share, ensure product excellence, guide and communicate success, and build recognition for the organization’s impact.
  • Provide oversight to the organization’s functional areas with an emphasis on Operations, Technology, Data and Compliance.
  • Coordinate with all areas to track, measure, and report on project-based, programmatic and organizational KPIs.
  • Ensure the team’s overall success as well as support strategic relationships with vendors and new partner initiatives nationwide.
  • Manage operations, systems, and internal processes to drive excellence and growth.
  • Participate in all aspects of organizational strategic planning.
  • Provide vendor management, communication and support including RFPs, contracts, negotiations, due diligence, tracking, evaluating, reporting, approvals and compliance.
  • Devise strategies and tools for organizational workflow and reporting, identifying resources and support needed to achieve program targets and providing reports, dashboards, and executive briefings.
  • Build issue expertise on trends, new developments, and emerging opportunities in the financial and education sectors, financial education, technology and related fields.
  • Effectively represent the SIFMA Foundation to internal and external audiences as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with depth of experience in investing, capital markets, fintech and/or EdTech, and data analytics, and familiar with nonprofit management, fundraising and compliance. The candidate must thrive on complex problem solving, leading and launching into new markets, innovating and re-engineering for exponential growth, delivering superior customer satisfaction and tapping emergent technologies to amplify impact. The candidate is proactive and resourceful, a strategic and critical thinker, a problem-solver and highly organized and has:

  • Experience in strategy, project management, vendor and account management, internal product development, and customer experience.
  • A passion for and/or experience in investing, capital markets and fintech; data analytics, IT and AI; education, EdTech, and/or nonprofit management.
  • Expertise in dashboard development and maintenance, researching, analyzing and interpreting data, and creating appropriate frameworks, models, and budgets to scope and scale initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and marketing skills, with direct experience in the production of high-quality pitches and presentations.
  • Negotiation and collaboration skills needed to bring out the best from partners.
  • Strong people leadership and ability to model effective management.
  • Innovation and creative thinking to develop outside the box solutions and see around corners.
  • Tremendous motivation and energy, a strong work ethic and customer service excellence.
  • Familiarity with Access, Sequel, CRMs and social/digital platforms; fluency with MS Office, Excel, PPT.
  • Proven ability to lead, to collaborate, to motivate others to work together toward a common goal.
  • Impeccable integrity, judgment, and discretion to handle confidential matters.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required and advanced degree strongly preferred.
