CodeHS is a comprehensive program for helping schools teach computer science. We provide web-based curriculum, teacher tools and resources, and professional development.

Mission

The mission of CodeHS is to empower all students to meaningfully impact the future. We believe that in the 21st century, coding is a foundational skill, just like reading and writing. That’s why we say: Read, Write, Code. We do this by providing great curriculum, tools, and resources to teachers, students, and schools to implement high-quality computer science programs. We believe that everyone should get the chance to learn coding, and that it’s a skill that provides limitless creative opportunity to students.

Must be authorized to work in the US and based in the US.

- The main office is in Chicago. Chicago office is hybrid.

 - You can apply to this position if you live in another state. If you are working from another state onboarding and some team meetings require travel, but you can work from home or a coworking space. 

Controller Job Description

CodeHS is looking for a Controller to help manage company finances. 

Responsibilities

- Work with external accountants and bookkeepers

- Work with external CPA firms

- Work with external R&D credit firms

- Work with internal operations and sales operations teams

- Work with banks as needed

- Work with internal billing team members

- Tax management for state and federal

- Tax planning

- Commission management and review

- Accrual systems review

- Financial statements

- Negotiate vendor contracts

- Monthly and annual closes with accounting teams

- Forecasting and budgeting

- Vendor tracking

- Help with other financial budgeting and tracking as needed

- Communicating to CEO

- Report to CEO

Requirements

- 3-5 Years in finance, accounting or as a controller

- Passionate about improving access to quality education

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Extremely organized and detail oriented

- Very tech savvyAdaptable and flexible

Salary: 

- In Chicago office, $127,500

- Not in Chicago, $112,500
