Content Specialist

Purpose of the Role: The Content Specialist is responsible for the delivery of an often-customized pre-sales presentations in collaboration with their sales partners. This delivery requires a strong content background and continued content growth. Presentation planning is also a part of the Content Specialist role. This presentation work is enhanced by conversations with customers with the goal of gaining information around a highly content connected plan for all customers. This makes up the core of the responsibilities of the Content Specialist. Additionally, Content Specialists often support:

  • Content related workshops that play a part in the Pre-Sales Plans
  • Getting Started Assignments for Back to School
  • Sales Pilot Training
  • Additional subject matter expertise work as assigned by leadership.

For this role we are looking for an Elementary Education Generalist with an emphasis on grades K-8.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To deliver pre-sales webinars tailored to customer and sales needs.
  • To deliver pre-sales customer presentations customized to customer and sales needs in medium and large revenue accounts.
  • To deliver Getting Started trainings tailored to customer and sales needs.
  • To partner with the Account Executive to explore solution opportunities with customers and to recommend both programs and services.
  • To learn two or more, subject area suites of programs plus services (i.e., math and science) as requested.
  • To learn Getting Started trainings as requested.
  • To complete SFDC forms, evaluations, and reports as required.
  • To demonstrate understanding of assigned disciplines including core and supplemental products as well as technology associated with such products.
  • To work with Account Executives, CSG managers, and Service managers to understand client needs and transfer this knowledge to pre-sales, sales, and post-sales presentations.
  • To customize the sales message with awareness of customer needs, campaign issues, and competitive knowledge.
  • To appropriately adjust presentations to the needs and responses of the audience.
  • To handle customer questions and overcomes objections.
  • To demonstrate product knowledge to position products in a way that reflects product strengths while aligning with market issues, curriculum trends, and customer needs.
  • To utilize knowledge of competitors’ products to enhance product positioning.
  • To communicate information regarding customer needs to the Account Executive and manager in order to capitalize on sales opportunities and position product effectively.


  • Bachelor's Degree is a minimum with graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of K-12 teaching experience in a subject area relevant to the position.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Digital literacy is a requirement.
  • Collaboration skills.
  • Highly organized and able to transfer strategies into actions that deliver results.
  • Able to use MS Office Suite and Teams Meeting tools.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends, and travel extensively up to 50% – driving and flying.
  • Lift and move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • A valid driver's license and clear driving record.
