About Lalilo

Lalilo is an EdTech Startup building a web-based app to help elementary teachers differentiate their reading instruction. Our vision is to support educators in the classroom by gathering pedagogy, design, and artificial intelligence in the most engaging learning platform.

Our tool is used monthly by more than 80,000 teachers as well as 700,000 students and growing! On the student side, students work through different worlds and collect treasures as they go. They complete exercises in phonics, sight words, word families, grammar, and comprehension. On the teacher side, detailed reporting allows teachers to better understand student strengths and areas of need. Educators can also print weekly reports and invite families to use the platform at home.

We are a team of 27 passionate, hard-working, and fun individuals based in Paris, New York, and San Francisco.

About the position

We are currently building out our Marketing Team and simultaneously hiring a Demand Generation Manager and Content Marketing Manager. These two roles will collaborate frequently. The Content Marketing Manager will be responsible for creating user-focused content that will attract, engage, and retain our target audience of elementary educators. The right candidate will have a firm grasp of the responsibilities and challenges that teachers face, and use those insights to build relevant, empowering content. Through blog posts, social media, whitepapers, infographics, email, and other marketing support pieces, the Content Marketing Manager will engage, support, and inform teachers on our product as well as all things education and literacy.

A list of your responsibilities include:

Content Marketing

  • Author a variety of high-quality and persuasive content that will be relevant and engaging to teachers.
  • Plan and Manage an editorial calendar for our blog. This includes developing relevant content themes and creating content and resources for teachers from start to finish (planning, researching, writing/creating, collaborating with design, posting, promoting new content on social media).
  • Send relevant and informative newsletters weekly to our teacher users. This includes planning, writing, design/layout, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with our Demand Generation Manager to create content campaigns that are engaging and informative.
  • Work in collaboration with our sales, customer success, and product team to create informative and promotional content for teachers about our continuously evolving learning platform.

Community & Social Media Manager

  • Expand our presence and engagement across all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin). Plan, create, design, and post engaging and relevant content for our teacher users regularly.
  • Plan and Manage a content calendar for our social media platforms in collaboration with our design team.
  • Engage, grow, manage, and nurture our community on those social media channels: answer comments, messages, launch contests, surveys, etc.
  • Design, develop, and implement a Brand Ambassador Program for Lalilo.
  • Host weekly webinars to build community and inform users about our product.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with teacher influencers who have an online following.
  • Encourage teachers to share about Lalilo.

About you

We’re looking for somebody who:

  • Deeply cares about educators and can relate to them.
  • Highly creative and excited to develop and implement new ideas.
  • Has excellent written and oral communication as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Is very tech-savvy and able to thrive in a tech startup.
  • Is extremely organized and structured. Able to navigate in unstructured environments and work remotely.
  • Always willing to learn something new and able to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Pays attention to details and can multitask.
  • Is excited by the idea of joining an early-stage startup.
  • Is team-oriented and excited to collaborate and work toward a shared goal.
  • Is able to travel to our offices in Paris, New York City, or San Francisco on a monthly basis.

Required

  • At least 2 years as a Community Manager or a Content Marketing Manager
  • Has experience in education as a teacher, or at an EdTech organization
  • Experience developing brand-centered content, including blog articles, social media content, videos, sales copy, etc.
  • Has a proven track record of generating engagement across social media platforms with brand-centered content.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices
  • Knowledge of WordPress platform and other content management systems
