Content Development Manager, ELA

The Content Development Manager, ELA reports to the Senior Manager, ELA and Social Studies Content Development and works closely with other Managers and Project Managers in a collaborative team. This manager is responsible for a team of ELA Content Developers who produce high quality content for Edmentum programs. The primary focus is on developing a high performing team who consistently applies their knowledge and skills to develop high quality and timely products to the market.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Accomplish resourcing objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees.
  • Communicate with employees regarding project status, quality, issues, solutions, performance, and general business information.
  • Leverage a variety of flexible resource groups (including Edmentum employees, contractors, and vendors) to develop quality content.
  • Utilize strong subject matter expertise to lead and guide internal and external groups with regards to the development and maintenance of content.
  • Create training programs to ensure calibration of subject matter across projects.
  • Work with a cross-functional leadership team to develop project processes, plans, and training.
  • Identify, assess, prioritize, and escalate risks. Apply resources to monitor and control the impact.
  • Monitor quality across resources and work groups, including onshore and offshore vendors.
  • Maintain communication with Senior Manager about resource performance and project status.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or ELA; master’s degree preferred
  • 8 years of experience in teaching and/or curriculum development, specifically ELA
  • 3 years of experience in management of resources and work groups, including onshore and offshore vendors
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and team-building skills
  • Exceptional writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Strong creative and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent research, Internet, and technical skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Positive and high-energy attitude
  • Experience working on projects in multi-faceted and fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of standard software (Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to learn new applications
