We are looking for someone to join our team in a new role focused on Content Marketing & Community Engagement. You will bring deep understanding of the K12 teacher experience in order to craft cohesive messages that resonate with educators. Direct experience as a classroom teacher will be helpful to someone in this role as you work to empathize with and better understand our audience, but it's not explicitly required.
You will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content to engage school district leaders, teacher educators, and teachers. This content will span from our blog to our sales engagement emails (check out blog.edthena.com for examples). Our ideal candidate is an experienced, tech-savvy professional with demonstrable creative writing skills and excellent grammar.
Your content is meant to cultivate and amplify our community. You will be empowered to share your content to raise brand awareness, and monitor subsequent web traffic and metrics. In addition to content strategy, we envision the person in this role assisting with our emerging events strategy designed to engage educators with our brand in new ways.
You should have evidence of self-managing, perform well under deadlines, and be detail-oriented both in task management and end-product.
Founded in 2011, Edthena is the award-winning video coaching platform focused on teacher PD. Covid-19 and distanced teaching has accelerated the need for feedback to teachers, and there's real momentum in what we're doing. We need someone who can execute successfully within the challenging marketing environment that is school districts to successfully position our company as the leader in our space.
We're a small team that's accomplishing a lot. We were already working remotely from different locations before the pandemic started, so we have strong structures in place for team collaboration and connection. Given that this is a new role for our team, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the role itself in order to maximize your impact.
Responsibilities
Requirements
Overarching any of the bullets we might write below, you must be personally motivated by our vision to ensure all teachers can access the support that they need to have the greatest impact with their students. It will be hard to be successful in this role or at this company without that personal commitment to our work.
If you have all of the above and can tell us about your marketing funnel with measurable results, we definitely want to meet you.
* = One note for the educators with the strong side-hustle but limited formal experience for this type of role. We see you and still want to talk to you. If you could say something like "I was a full-time teacher who already developed a community around my content," then, yes, please send us your application. That said, make it really clear to us in your application why we should be paying attention.
