Computer Science Teacher (Middle School)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The job of Computer Science teacher includes, but is not limited to:

  • Teaching 5-6 sections of middle grades computer science;
  • Supporting the development, revision, and implementation of a district PK-12 computer science curriculum;
  • Collaborating with other computer science teachers as part of a district-wide professional learning community;
  • Supporting computer science instruction so that success cannot be predicted by race, gender, socio-economic status, and other demographic factors; and
  • Performing related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possession of a valid California teaching credential (see details at www.csinsf.org/teach); 
  • Two years of professional teaching experience;
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience teaching computer science at the middle school level; 
  • Ability to address access and equity issues with a variety of individuals and groups; and
  • Bilingual/biliterate.
