Community + Social Media Marketing Specialist

Edulastic - Fremont, California or Remote - Full time

The Edulastic marketing team is looking for a community-oriented professional who can engage across platforms with K-12 educators, create valuable content, and help tell our story. We already have a vibrant community that loves Edulastic. The person in this role will help us build on this momentum to grow both revenue and our educational impact. In this role you’ll share fun and valuable content, energize and support our community, and amplify the voice of our company.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage our social media channels by sharing content, engaging our audience, responding to inquiries and growing followers.
  • Craft messages and tell powerful stories that captivate, energize, inspire, and empower people
  • Nurture and support the community of educators who use Edulastic
  • Lead the Edulastic Innovator Team, our community of most active and enthusiastic Edulastic
  • Run paid advertising campaigns
  • Partner with industry leaders and influencers to build awareness
  • Produce and adapt media (images and video, for example) to fit optimal channel sharing
  • Support the marketing team with campaign, event, and product promotions
  • Additional tasks and projects as needed

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications-related field (English, liberal arts, journalism, etc.) preferred, (and/or 2 years work experience in communications role).
  • 2 - 5 years in marketing or communications
  • Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Excellent writing skills as demonstrated by a portfolio of short and long-form samples of different styles/formats.
  • Self-directed, able to meet deadlines and juggle multiple deadlines without much oversight.
  • Desire and ability to work in a startup environment: flexible, highly collaborative, always interested in learning, willingness to try new ideas and cut things that aren’t working.
  • Experience with analytical and online marketing tools is ideal. Specific experience with SEMrush, Twitter Advertising, Facebook Advertising, and Google AdWords is a plus.
