Do you (not so secretly) wish that you were the person behind Denny’s humor-filled Twitter account? Are you an early adopter of every new social platform that gets released, just in case it’s the new Facebook? Do you know the difference between content creation and content curation? Do you captivate audiences both online and IRL?

Sounds like you’d make a great Community Engagement Manager.

About You:

  • You believe strongly in the power of social media
  • You’re quick, reliable, and always on time
  • You have a GIF response for every possible situation
  • You’re Wendy’s-Twitter-account level sassy, and get a thrill from challenging higher ed industry norms
  • You love interacting with new people both in-person and IRL
  • Your copywriting skills are envied by everyone you know
  • Your copyediting skills are so #flawless that you even found a typo in this post
  • You have an in-depth understanding of the world of higher education

What Your Week Will Look Like:

  • Create and distribute fun, engaging, and informative content for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other platforms as assigned
  • Engage and build relationships with the higher ed online community
  • Write 1-2 blog posts per week relevant to higher ed professionals and the topic of student engagement
  • Produce downloadable content in partnership with the Director of Marketing
  • Provide weekly reports to the Director of Marketing highlighting progress toward goals across all social channels
  • Create and optimize 1-2 blog promotion email campaigns each week

Plus, You Will:

  • Partner with the Director of Marketing to create aligned growth strategies of social media channels, aligned with the Presence mission, vision, and values
  • Utilize social media monitoring tools (such as Crowdtangle and BuzzSumo) to curate amazing content and monitor engagement
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential influencers and industry thought leaders in student affairs and higher education
  • Develop and implement ideas for social engagement campaigns
  • Attend relevant conferences (note: travel is infrequent for this position)
  • Assist in the development of social media trainings for Presence staff members
  • Experiment with new best practices

The Application Process:

  1. Send us your resume in PDF format, and tell us why you would be the perfect fit for this role. Include your favorite social media post of all time, and tell us why it’s stuck with you for so long (this doesn’t need to be a post that you created or curated, just a post from somewhere on the internet). Limit your responses to 280 characters.
  2. We’ll send interesting applicants a test so that we can better understand how you’ll craft engaging content.
  3. If you’re awesome, we’ll bring you into our St. Petersburg office for a day so that you can interview and meet the team.
  4. We’ll call you with the good news!
