OPPORTUNITY

Clayton Valley Charter High School seeks an Assistant Principal/Director of Teaching and Learning to oversee initiatives around the development of curriculum and delivery of instruction for the school. This individual will be an expert in teaching and learning, with a deep interest in coaching and supporting teachers to improve their practice and ensure all students’ academic needs are met. The Assistant Principal/Director of Teaching and Learning will join an administrative team comprised of four other Assistant Principals/Directors, a Principal, and an Executive Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading the design and implementation of standards-aligned, college prep curriculum across grade levels and content areas;
  • Modeling innovative, data-driven instructional practices to teachers and other academic support personnel;
  • Coaching and developing the skill of CVCHS’ educators in delivering high-quality, differentiated instruction to students;
  • Serving as a member of the administrative team, supporting other schoolwide initiatives and activities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

In order to fulfill these responsibilities, the ideal AP/Director candidate will be:

  • A highly accomplished teacher and instructional leader with a minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience.
  • Deeply committed to CVCHS’s mission and vision of delivering a world-class, well-rounded college preparatory education to all students.
  • A passionate advocate for all students and families who has a commitment to building a strong culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion;
  • Knowledgeable about the academic and social-emotional needs of adolescents, particularly high school students, as they pursue their paths towards college and career.

In addition, qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Education sufficient to meet all necessary California administrative credential requirements.
  • An earned California Administrative Credential, an Administrative Intern Credential and/or the requisite qualifications to gain a CA Administrative Credential.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position offers a competitive salary range of approximately $110-145k a bonus and robust benefits including access to medical, dental and STRS retirement. More details can be provided upon request.
