Classroom Observers

Committee for Children - Seattle, Washington - Part time

Committee for Children is growing, and we’re looking for classroom observers on a contract-basis. In this role, you’ll conduct observations of social-emotional learning (SEL) in classrooms and out-of-school time programs in the greater Seattle area—Seattle, Everett, Bellevue, Kent, and Tacoma.

Training will occur in late September and observations will be scheduled between October 1, 2018 and June 20, 2019. Observers are paid monthly based on the number of observations completed.

Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Conduct observations independently, record observations, and upload observations to an online form
  • Number of observations will vary based on your availability
  • Each observation is less than 30 minutes
  • Observations must be completed at the scheduled times and dates
  • Enter observations onto online form

Qualifications

  • 18 years or older
  • Available for weekday mornings (8:30–11:30 a.m.) and/or afternoons (12:30–2:30 p.m., 3:00–6:00 p.m.)
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Attend a paid 2-hour training prior to beginning observations
  • Must have clearance to work in schools: pass a background check, and get a TB screening within 60 days of first observation, which CFC will reimburse up to $35
  • Bilingual a plus (English and Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin)
  • Experience working with children a plus
