We are looking for an outstanding senior instructional leader to serve as Old Redford Academy’s Chief Academic Officer (CAO). The CAO of this twenty year old charter district will articulate and refine Old Redford’s academic program, manage principals, build systems and processes that will support Old Redford’s growth over time, and ensure that ORA’s students attain excellent academic outcomes while becoming productive members of a peaceful global society.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Chief Academic Officer will:

●Articulate and refine Old Redford Academy’s Vision of Excellence for instruction and academic culture, and invest teachers and leaders in this vision.

●Define ORA's academic program including a cohesive and well-defined approach to the following: standards, assessment, instruction, curriculum, school improvement, professional development and technical assistance.

●Continuously evolve ORA’s academic program to promote a culture of engaging, rigorous, and responsive instruction.

●Identify the strategic steps we need to take in order to realize ORA’s academic goals, including a careful analysis of the curricula and data tracking systems that will best support our work.

●Build systems and processes that will allow Old Redford Academy to serve our students academically and continue to support our students’ growth in the upcoming years.

●Manage, grow, and retain a team of instructional leaders, including principals and content coaches.

●Develop a vision to facilitate professional development and evaluation of instruction that effectively leverages talent and promotes a culture of sharing/collaboration that ensures instructional leaders and teachers receive outstanding coaching and professional development that accelerates their own growth and the academic achievement of their students.

  • ●Provide leadership in the evaluation of instruction and programs, and recommends changes and improvements as needed.

●Assess principal leadership capacity, develop and support the execution of individualized leadership plans, conduct regular formal and informal evaluations, design and deliver professional learning opportunities for principals that are focused on building their capacities as instructional leaders.

●Collaborate with the principals in development and implementation of school and district improvement plans.

●Serve on ORA’s Executive Team and work collaboratively with all members of the team to ensure coordinated planning and consistent implementation of the District’s Improvement Plan, making certain that programs and priorities focus on eliminating achievement gaps and improving student achievement to provide the highest quality education for our students.

  • ●Act as a liaison with other school districts, universities, and State Department personnel in order to keep abreast of new educational developments and ideas.

●Ultimately, own the responsibility for ensuring that Old Redford Academy students receive an outstanding education that prepares them to succeed in college and beyond as impactful members of society.

Qualifications: Must possess Master's degree in education administration, supervision, or curriculum development.

Five (5) years’ experience in the area of school leadership

At least three (3) years of successful teaching experience

Licenses and other Requirements:

Administrative Certification is required
