Business Development Representative

ReUp Education - Remote - Full time

The Role

When you tell a story, does the whole room listen? Do you find yourself acting as an advocate for products or businesses? Are you looking for a role that has a social impact and creates change to students who want to complete their higher education dreams, but just need support? If so, and if you are an experienced Business Development Representative (BDR), we’re looking for you!

Through close collaboration between our marketing and sales team, you will be seeking out new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers.

Communication skills are essential in this role. While you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas, you will also cultivate strong relationships with customers, from first contact to closing a deal, to post-sales follow up. If you are motivated, results-driven, and enjoy working in a team environment, then we’d like to hear from you!

What we do

Founded in 2015, ReUp Education is the only organization that focuses exclusively on helping colleges and universities engage and re-enroll the more than 40% of US students who have “stopped out” and support them until graduation, through our technology-enabled service. To date, we have re-enrolled over 14,000 students, assisting over 2500 to graduate, and recaptured over $45 million in tuition for our university partners.

What you’ll do

  • Assist in the coordination of outreach and marketing activities with the Demand Generation Manager and Account Executives.
  • Prospect potential leads working with the Account Executives
  • Qualify sales leads from marketing campaigns and prospecting
  • Proactively identify, contact, and present ReUp to potential clients through cold calls and emails
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Customize product solutions to increase customer satisfaction
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Sales and Partnership Directors
  • Report to sales leadership on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results
  • Stay up-to-date on new products/services and new pricing/payment plans
  • Limited travel (annual retreats, team meetings)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field
  • Proven work experience in a similar role, including optimizing sales techniques (like cold calling) and achieving sales quotas
  • Higher ed, ed tech, and/or startup experience a big plus
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Experience on marketing campaign software (e.g. Outreach, Hubspot)
  • Familiarity with Google Sheets or MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent virtual communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations virtually
  • You care about ReUp’s mission and are committed to helping us open new opportunities to students

What does success look like?

  • You show persistence in tracking down new leads. Finding ways to turn no into yes through your outreach.
  • You are resilient and find new ways to engage our ICP and share our message with potential clients.
  • You provide detailed information to the Sales team to assist them in following up on the leads you are creating.
  • You help generate meetings for conferences we are attending and interest in the webinars we hold. You will work with our Digital Marketing Manager to ensure we are taking advantage of these interest generators to the fullest.
