Business Development Representative

KickUp is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join a team that is reimagining how school districts grow their most valuable asset: their people.

KickUp aims to empower educators by meaningfully engaging them in professional growth. Our platform helps educational leaders capture data about teacher growth and use it to drive better outcomes for students. We’re a growing marketing team generating awareness and demand for a product used by tens of thousands of educators. About the role

As a Business Development Representative at KickUp, you will:

  • Reach out to school district leaders engaging with KickUp’s content and event programming to schedule introductory meetings
  • Compile research on prospects, building lead lists for sales team prospecting
  • Create, run, and analyze cold outreach campaigns to engage new prospects in target territories
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and other members of marketing on territory campaign strategy, messaging, and timing
  • Prospect and build a sales pipeline via multiple mediums including email, phone, trade show leads, existing customer and inbound website leads
  • Determine the prospect's specific interest in KickUp products
  • Schedule discovery meetings for sales representatives and prospects

  • Prior experience selling or as an educator is not required, but is an added bonus.

Position details

This is a remote, full-time position that can be performed anywhere within the US.

This position involves both base and variable compensation. Base compensation for this position is $60,000, with total compensation including commission targeted at $80K with unlimited commission potential.

We offer stock options in our growing company, and a variety of medical, dental and vision insurance options. We also provide opportunities for professional growth including a $600 annual individual stipend for professional learning.

We believe in the importance of recharging and offer a flexible PTO policy. Most of our employees average between 15-20 PTO days per year in addition to 11+ paid company holidays. Our team also enjoys Focus Fridays — a day without Slack or meetings, to provide flexibility and focus time.
