About Your Role

You will be responsible for the meticulous development, management, and testing of product requirements. You will work closely with product managers, developers, client managers, and designers to ensure that team members have all of the details they need to build and create cool things.

What You'll Do

  • Create and manage detailed product requirements (both for client configurations/deployments, and for new product features)
  • Maintain a meticulous library of configuration requirements
  • Support product development and deployment: requirements clarification and prioritization, backlog grooming, and sprint planning
  • Create detailed quality assurance plans (visual, functional, data) for each deployment, working closely with the product manager and client engagement leaders
  • Run manual quality checks on all of our deployments, and continually improve our QA processes to achieve efficiencies where possible
  • Play a critical utility player role for the Strategy Team’s work, including proposal development and scoping, roadmap development, contracting, and innovating on our processes.

Your Background

In order to be a strong fit for this role, you should have:

2 years of experience as a business analyst or QA analyst

Demonstrated success in writing clear user stories, requirements, user experience pathways/flow, and other technical documentation that supports a precise workflow to our product teams

Experience contributing to multiple concurrent, complex, and highly detailed product deployments on tight timelines and with priorities that could change on a regular basis

Evidence of excellent problem solving skills: you know how to determine what is important versus urgent, and can prioritize for maximum efficiency, but you also know when to consult others

The personal qualities that will set you up for success at Tembo:

You are up for being a utility player

You are a self-starter

You have a strong sense of collaboration and camaraderie, but you are not afraid to own work and make it happen

You have impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail (the data and text in our work have to be perfect)

You can quickly understand, internalize, and communicate complex, technical concepts

You thrive in a constantly changing environment and see it as an opportunity to learn and grow, and not as an inconvenience

You are self-aware about your key strengths and where you want to grow

You have exceptional speaking, writing, and visual communication skills

You have a good sense of humor

And it’s great if you also have:

Experience with agile development processes

Experience with software testing

Experience with Python, CSS, or JavaScript

Experience with K-12 education products

What We Offer

Competitive salary

Paid medical and dental program and 401k with 4% employer match

Paid continuing education benefit and peer-to-peer professional development
