Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula, Chief Administrative Officer

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula - Menlo Park, California - Full time

ORGANIZATION

At the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP), our business is changing lives. We are a vibrant, entrepreneurial nonprofit organization in the heart of Silicon Valley that is committed to empowering the youth in our community with equitable access to social, academic, and career opportunities to thrive. We partner with schools and the community to ensure students from low-income neighborhoods graduate from high school, ready for college and career so they can lead fulfilling lives fueled by their passions, talents, and a love of learning.

We have grown steadily over the past 20 years to become the largest expanded learning time organization in San Mateo County, with programs in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Redwood City. Now we are expanding dramatically to serve students and families in San Mateo, Daly City and South San Francisco. By August we will be serving 3,000 K-16 students across 24 sites with a budget of $26 million and 300 staff. The biggest challenge we face is hiring, training, and retaining the qualified staff necessary to meet demand. We need the right administrative functions and systems to enable this.

We have ambitious aspirations for continued growth beyond this year’s commitment with strong demand from our school partners in north San Mateo County for additional services. The unmet need is great, and BGCP is best positioned to meet it. In addition to opening many more school sites, we would like to build three new clubhouses as vibrant community hubs. This would require a major capital campaign and construction project.

While BGCP is affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we are an independent 501(c)(3) organization with our own Board of Directors and responsible for our own programs and funding.
