B2B SaaS Account Executive

MIT Horizon - Cambridge, Massachusetts or Remote - Full time

MIT’s Open Learning is looking for an experienced Account Executive to join the new MIT Horizon initiative as its first full-time salesperson. You will work closely with the full MIT Horizon team including the MIT Horizon program director, an experienced B2B SaaS entrepreneur, as well as a seasoned sales director with two decades B2B sales experience.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Leading the entire sales process from discovery to contract to handover to our Customer Success team, working with executive leaders at Fortune 500 companies, government departments and large NGOs.
  • Some outbound prospecting and lead generation, as needed. You will be supported by a Sales Development Representative who will generate new opportunities on an ongoing basis.
  • Capturing all activities in our CRM and providing accurate forecasts
  • Sharing feedback from prospects with the broader team
  • Developing the MIT Horizon sales playbook

Qualifications and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to initiate and develop strong professional relationships with senior business leaders.
  • Proven ability to work independently in an unstructured, startup environment.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years successfully selling B2B SaaS using a similar process (phone/video calls; 3-/6-month sales cycles; multiple executive stakeholders);
  • Experience selling educational products: not required but a plus;
  • Experience working and being successful in a startup (or startup-like) environment;
  • Exposure to complex organizations and to senior clients/stakeholders is a plus.
