Associate Product Manager, Spanish Reading

The Producer plays a central role in managing creative conversations across the editorial, design and engineering teams to ultimately yield compelling experiences that incorporate research-based instructional approaches, motivation and UX research.

Once in execution phase, the Producer works closely with each team to problem solve, build scalable processes and ensure that new products are delivered on time and within budget.

*This position is for 1 year with the possibility of extending an additional 6-12 months*

The impact you'll have:

  • Help contribute to conceptualizing and driving the development of innovative yet scalable educational products that achieve growth and engage students.
  • Support lead producer and collaborate with cross functional teams, including Editorial, Engineering, QA, Design, and U/X Research members to:
    • generate impactful content ideas that engage students and lead to growth in learning through an intuitive product experience
    • understand and make implementation decisions based on technical capabilities and constraints, as well as pedagogical and UX best practices
  • Support editorial teams in planning and generating content ideas, instructional flows and image specifications
  • Support asset procurement including scheduling and script preparation for audio sessions and image specification creation and hand off
  • Support planning and execution of activities and student testing
  • Act as or support product owner; drafting requirements and helping to prioritize product features and work; collaborate closely with Project Manager and participate and contribute to running planning meetings
  • Create and/or maintain technical documentation and be available to answer questions from other teams
  • Ensure that teams are meeting content goals around cultural and linguistic responsiveness and anti-racism/social justice as well as process goals around diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Help drive planning and execution workflows at different stages of product development life cycle, by supporting both process definition for new concepts, collaborating with Editorial, Design, and Engineering and definition and specification creation of lessons and activities as they move through the development process to ensure learning objectives and engagement goals are balanced and achieved

What we're looking for:

  • 1 - 3 years’ experience developing interactive educational content for children
  • Background in Reading Instruction
  • Experience working with Spanish-speaking students
  • Publishing, teaching experience or product development experience desired
  • Ability to contribute on multiple projects or efforts simultaneously
  • Strength in self-driven performance and initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective relationship management

We’d also love to see:

  • An editorial background in Spanish Reading Instruction
  • Experience with digital media
  • Familiarity with online authoring software and project management software such as Wrike or JIRA
